The one major difference between Hux and Kallus is that Kallus actually became a spy for the Rebels after realizing the atrocities the empire had committed to people like the Lasat’s while Hux became a spy just so he could climb the ranks of the Imperial officers which he says so after helping Poe, Finn, and Chewie.

Hux in Episode VII was terrifying. He could have made an interesting opponent to Kylo Ren, however sadly as it is he was turned into a punching bag in Episode VIII

Because God forbid we have tense moments and stakes in our movie, right? Then the audience might actually get invested in our plot!
