Detroit Assurance Pt 2: All That and Fuel Economy Too

In the second part of our two-part look at Detroit Assurance, we examine the system's traffic management capabilities. We show the truck exiting a freeway ramp, driving through a toll booth and coming to a stop at a traffic light, all without ever touching the brake or throttle pedal.

This has far-reaching implications for lowering driver stress levels when operating in heavy traffic. And because the system is so tightly integrated with the rest of the powertrain, it actually helps save fuel by accelerating and managing traffic in the most fuel-efficient manner possible.

Sounds great but I guess one day in the not so distant future people won't be driving at all.

Does this system shut off when you tap the brakes? What do you do on curves when speed is 25, but car in front, goes through the curve at 40+?
