Camp stove 1 is still a beast. I can't justify having two stoves so I'll stick with the original. But well done. I love the improvements. All I wish I had is the 4 speed fan. I seem to burn through a lot of fuel. Side note to people that have these units. Smoker chips or pellets work awesome and add great flavor to you're food!

had the original campstove from first release loved it but had its flaws (still a fanatic part of anyone's kit ), campstove v2 sorts all those flaws out . just received mine this morning done a test and the flame indicator is a brilliant addition, 4 speed fan is amazing will make grilling a breeze and the ability to charge electronic equipment while not in use ( ie fired up ) is perfect . i cannot wait to try it out while camping . definitely worth the upgrade ... brilliant job biolite !!! edit to add, use the wood pellets even less smoke in fact i can easily say near zero !!

I always wanted a small fire next to a lithium battery.

I wish Biolite could create a simplified version of this to use in pre-existing larger wood stoves.

I'm picturing a metal rod insert of a standard drill bit thickness that could be inserted into a hole in the side if virtually any stove or fire.

In the Canadian winters a larger indoor stove is required and solar isn't very reliable.
Having something I could stick in my stove to charge batteries would be great.

It's the anti Galaxy Note 7, instead of having your battery burst into flames you charge your battery WITH flames

Looks like I need to upgrade, you can see the original stove and every accessory I've purchased in my gear layout on my channel.

Climate neutral? Can one replace the battery or do you have to replace the whole charge/fan unit?

How many watts in the typical/average case? How much energy is output for, say, 1 typically sized log of wood? Can you hook it up to a DC to DC charger?

es MUY difícil conseguirlo aquí en Argentina, y menos en patagonia, espero tratar de alguna manera de tenerlo para usarlo en mis próximos Trekkings gracias por este gran invento! (send me one to use in patagonia :)

It seems in the new Biolite 2 Campstove the probe is made out of Aluminum instead of Copper like the original.  Aluminum is lighter and more thermally conductive to enhance the power output but also melts at ~1250degF instead of ~1950degF.  I propose that if you put a large item like a skillet, grill or kettle pot on top of the stove, load it up and ramp the fan up on high you may get over the aluminum melting point and melt the probe.  You can easily get over 1250degF with a wood fire in the proper conditions; think about an aluminum can in a hot campfire.  Probably can control by keeping the fan setting lower but may want to address this in the literature as it will always be a possibility.
