In 1993 Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II was crowned as King of Buganda Kingdom succeeding his late father Edward Muteesa II who died in exile where he had fled for refuge following the past political turmoil.
His installation as kabaka of Buganda Kingdom followed restoration of monarchies that had been abolished during the former political regimes of Dr Apollo Milton Obote and Iddi Amin Dada.
It is exactly three decades of Kabaka Muwenda Mutebi II reign on the throne as the King of Buganda since his coronation 30 years ago in 1993.
Kabaka Mutebi became the 36th King of Buganda succeeding his father Edward Muteesi II who died in Exile.
