You can report any facts dispassionately and without biased language, but journalists always must decide which facts to report, and among those which facts to emphasize.

I am fine with bias, as long as the outlet is honest about the bias, and backs up their opinion with actual facts, and doesn't bury facts that don't align with their bias.

When we talk about the news being fair, just look at the difference in coverage between Tara Reade and Christine Blasey Ford. Obviously news isn’t fair or unbiased.

My undergraduate degree is journalism, and one of the cornerstones of what my professor taught me was that true journalism is simply the reporting of the facts and let the audience make up its own mind. I greatly appreciate that mindset, but realized it is not how society and the media provide news. News is biased and manipulative, which is why I have no part of it now.


It is completely impossible to shut off all personal biases, but when the news misrepresents facts to push a political or social agenda for the sole purpose of manufacturing news, I despise what they've become.

That's why I take issue with your sponsor. "Centrist" is implied to be "better" than left or right. It would be much more honest to rename Centrist to "Establishment." Then it's clear where the bias is. Calling establishment views "centrist" marginalizes all nonestblishment views.
