This video shows and displays the massive and huge thunderclouds that were spotted over the island of Montreal during a powerful thunderstorm family. These massive thunderclouds came from an organized, severe thunderstorm cluster that was associated partly with a strong cold front and broadly went through the Montreal area during the afternoon. The thunderstorm itself produced intense lightning, flash flooding and powerful winds. The massive thunderclouds were spotted over the Montreal area highway shown in the video during the mid-afternoon specifically. The massive thunderclouds from these incredible strong to severe thunderstorms formed very quickly as a family and moved dangerous close over this area over the course of one of our storm chases attempts while on this highway. These massive thunderclouds over the course of this severe thunder storm displayed an incredible and amazing shelf cloud structure, suggesting strong straight-line winds once mergers began, as well as the massive dark rain shaft located behind. Tornado warnings also were quickly released while these massive thunderclouds moved over the area.
