If you visit İzmir, you must visit Ephesus, one of the largest and best preserved ancient Roman cities. We decided to take a two-day trip to visit Ephesus and a couple of nearby cities using cost effective public transportation. In this video, we document our trip on the İzban (the İzmir electric commuter train) and our first day discovering the city of Selçuk and the mountain village of Şirince. We enjoyed one of our best meals at Ejder Restaurant in Selçuk and highly recommend it if you are visiting the city. Don't miss our second exclusively focused on our visit to Ephesus.

Selçuk is notable for the Basilica of St. John the Apostle who visited Ephesus and is thought to have been buried in the Basilica.

👩🏻‍🦰 🧔‍♂️ We’re Stephanie and Chris, a couple who decided to put our high-stress careers on hold so we could travel. After years of planning and investing, we started a 388 day countdown at which point we stopped working for pay and started traveling full time.
