Impressed that “12 piece” actually meant 12 picks, instead of 9 picks plus a case plus a package plus a cardboard shipping box.

You picked that lock like you were annoyed of it’s weak existence 😂

I actually have a this exact kit, and used the clear lock to learn the basics of how to rake. Two years later I had a tenant rekey every door in his rental and then split without giving me the new keys... picked every single one with this kit. Took me about an hour total but I learned enough to get it done in the real world!

I kind of favor the cheap, startup set. That way, when one finally breaks, you know which you use the most and can spend more on replacing it with something better. The ones you end up with undamaged are obviously not as useful.

I bet he picks the lock to his own house every time he gets home

Just bought them, thank you for the reference, and for the sandpapering tip.
* Please consider giving us newbies a summary showing what each pick is good for and it's proper use. Cheers.

reviews expensive locks „they are trash and so easy to unlock“

reviews cheap tools „its ok because I still can unlock expensive locks with it“

I am a Facility Manager at a 50, 000 sq ft day shelter for the homeless in my local community. We have lots of locks and my predecessors didn't leave me much of a discernible system of tracking which doors use which keys or pad lock combination charts. I've been flying by the seat of my pants for some time now. This job is specifically how I found your channel. I've watched several of your videos and found you to be a very valuable resource. I have my own key cutter up and running now, I have a cheap stamping kit to label keys with, and I just received my first lock pick kit. It isn't the one you review in this video but it is similar. I've fumbled around with the practice locks for about a week but yesterday I had the need to use my newly obtained tools and freshman skills. It felt pretty cool being able to open a door without the key. Thank you for all the tutorials.

This guy doesn't even have ads in his videos. And that's amazing

Never owned a set until I started watching your videos and subscribed . I ordered the set before seeing this review and surprised you gave it a thumbs up . I feel better about it and it’s on its way . As a machinist I have some round and square surface stones I will use to smooth out the edges .
At 70 I have a new hobby . 😁

I thoroughly appreciate your integrity, honesty and fair (painfully so, in some cases) review process! The fact that you refuse to shill for any particular product line, manufacturer, lock brand, or *gasp* your own profitable "line" of logo-inscribed picking tools, etc., only increases the value of your channel content, imho, as it allows each review & lock picking challenge to stand on its own right--unchallengable by your industry counterparts or lock "brands" who don't appreciate your educational & highly illustrative methodology. Well done, as usual, sir. Thanks

"Price point is the key here..."
Was that an intentional pun?

Lockpicking Lawyer has legitimately the funniest and least hostile comment section on YT. I actually enjoy it.

I literally have this same set and it is scary good. I watched a few videos and practiced with the clear locks for several hours and by the end of the day I was literally able to pick open the front door to my house lol.

HA, I actually bought this set as my very first pick set. Ive had a fascination for lock picking for a while but watching you really pushed me into buying a set for myself. I fumble more than I actually pick, i cant exactly say that i can feel the pins, just go over them while applying pressure until it snaps open. Thanks for being that inspiration to finally getting me started.

I bought that exact set when I started minus the lock. They are GREAT. I still use the city rake and standard hook even though I use mostly Peterson tools now a few years later. They held up, they take a polish great, the material is solid, the feel is great... I have zero complaints. Any beginners who are thinking of getting into it, GET THIS SET.

The pause after he picks the lock then clears his throat... I could hear the boredom in silence lol

I wanna get into lock picking with the intention of moving up to auto theft, house breaking and finally white collar crime if I'm sufficiently talented.
