That did the trick! however I used a copper tape folded into 6 folds and cut into the size of the L button inside in my case super glued it and assembled it like normal and now the L button works like normal. thanks for the great tip!

there is a spot in the video that shows the orientation of the left button ribbon cable that attaches to the motherboard when connected. This was particularly helpful to me because I had to replace the ribbon cable and the cable didn't have the prebends in the cable so I was able to see how it was supposed to go.

Thank you for the video. I have a problem with my Small New 3DS: the R button won't stop registering but it clicks correctly. Sometimes making pressure on the battery makes it stoo being registered. I don't know what to do anymore. Can I maybe send my console to you?

Trying to fix mine, used to have no input at all, I tried opening and getting a replacement spring, the ZR button works fine but when pressing the R it only sometimes detects me pushing down on it, thinking of getting replacement triggers but any other methods I could try? Nothing seems wrong with the parts physically, no bents dents or anything

I should totally do this. Then I won't have to worry about finicky aiming in Federation Force. I can't go one mission without thinking, "Will the 3DS hologram not show when I press R? Can I not portray Flower Power tonight??"

The problem isn't the lack of click, but the lack of prompting. I can press R (click and everything) and move my 3DS around, but my Mech will not aim. The hologram of the 3DS won't show so that means the problem isn't the button physically.

How did you make that little piece that you super glued onto the button? Reason I ask is because I too had to replace that same ribbon cable (the whole R button ribbon cable) you did this mod with because the cable snapped/broke and now the R button, after having put in the replacement ribbon cable, doesn't register like it should. The ZR button works just fine, but the R button does not.

If you could say how you did the Coke can foldover thing you did, that would help a lot because I too would like to do the same thing.

Hey, i recently bought a pre owned 2ds xl and the right shoulder button isn't registering. I'm not having the same issue in the sense that it doesn't click because mine clicks and acts like any other shoulder button would, but it just doesn't register.. any tips?
