Ban JUNK FOOD Advertising! What do you think?

Government needs to stop practicing medicine and nutrition advice when they clearly are corrupted by special interests.

Who decides what's junk food? The absolute LAST people I would trust to make ANY decision is government.

The German minister did NOT speak about banning sweets in general; he only talked about a ban on ADVERTISING sweets to children!

WhenI asked my Dad for cotton candy he simply said oh no thats made to sell not to eat. I like his answer. He was right!

Parents should be in control of what their children eat. And should educate themselves on what they and their children are eating

No. It is shortsighted, and a slippery slope to give such authority to the government. It would help in the short term but open the door to abuses by setting a horrible precedent.

Make it illegal in your own home for your own children and family. Realistically, we know that in this country, money talks and government listens.

It's a tough question. There are folks out there who would ban meat if they could. I think education is more important and effective.

When I was a kid in the 80's and 90's, there were lots of PSA's (public service announcements) to remind kids to be kind to one another or make good food choices, or to remind parents that it was 10 PM, "Do you know where your children are?", or to remind people how important family time was....
I can't for the life of me understand why they stopped these PSA's. We even had after school programming that would address trending topics of the day, that usually had a moral component.... They helped build character in young people.
My point is.... I thinks it's always better to teach people to make their own good and wise choices, rather than forbid them from the bad ones.
And giving more power to the government.... well that's NEVER a good thing.

I’m wholeheartedly against anyone eating junk food but I would have to think long and hard about a legal ban on it.
I could just be overly concerned with the proposal that we all eat bugs instead of meat. Allowing the ban of junk food would make a ban on meat easier.
Maybe some honest education on what is in these foods and how it affects the body would be a better option.

I'm traveling from VA to Florida S95 corridor. Junk food advertising is on every billboard, not to mention the state putting up extra directional signs to direct the traveler off every and any exit ramp.
I was comming into South Carolina past sunset- The South of the Boarder city of lights advertising- I have no words!

Junk food/ fast food pollutes more than our bodies, minds, and pocketbooks!

I think the best way to handle most things is to educate people so they can make informed decisions. If they start banning things it will just grow into a nightmare of nearly everything being banned.

Don't ban it but give the side effects like they do for prescription drugs.

Freedom takes responsibility. Be responsible for yourself and your kids. Make that crap a once in a while treat or just ban it from your home. Once the government starts running your life it’ll start running all of it.

I think ALL food ads should be stopped. We are humans, we need to eat, so why do we need constant reminders to do so! 🇬🇧👍

I don't want government in my life at all ....anything they tell you oh it's to save to save the children....there's always other motives. When you hear ... We're the government and we're here to help...RUN !!!!

Finally!! Y aren’t they doing that here!! No matter what I do or say, even with fighting with my husband my beautiful family insists on eating junk and take out!! I cook and grow my own veg! The stress is too much.

No not for banning the marketing. It is the parents responsibility not the governments. We need to be responsible for our children not the governments.

Nobody should give children junk food, but banning stuff can gor wrong very quickly.

It comes to mind what J Peterson says, the world is dangerous and the solution is not building walls, but becoming strong.

Parents should be trusted and information should be available.

What should be banned is suppressing research and masquerading lies as science science.
