Cameron Ezike Giles was born on February 4, 1976, in Harlem, New York, and goes by the moniker Cam'ron. He studied at the Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics and graduated in 1994. He began writing raps in middle school and dropped out of high school when he became known for his talent. He began his career with Children of the Corn in 1993. Big L, Mase, cousin Bloodshed, and Herb McGruff were among those who took part in the group. Cam'ron's increasingly absurd but clearly East Coast gangsta rap was one of the most unexpected popular infiltrations of the late 1990s and 2000s. After working with Big L and the pre-fame Mase, and garnering the endorsement of the Notorious B.I.G., the rapper had a Top Ten, gold-certified success with his debut album, Confessions of Fire in 1998. 'Come Home with Me' featured his highest-charting Billboard single to date, 'Oh Boy', for which he also received a 'Grammy' nomination alongside fellow Diplomats member Juelz Santana.
