Senate Passes PACT Act For Veterans Exposed To Burn Pits

After a wave of political backlash, the Senate voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to approve legislation to provide health care and benefits for sick veterans exposed to burn pits. NBC’s Ali Vitali reports for TODAY on the reaction from its supporters, including former late-night host Jon Stewart.

I have to wonder why this only covers the vets from Afghanistan, etc. I was stationed in Hawaii in the 80s, we deployed to a couple of the other islands for training. While there, we used burn pits to get rid of everything . So once I started hearing about all these symptoms recently, I had to wonder if any of my health issues are from these burn pits. And I don't doubt that there are many other vets out there who were exposed while serving. But I'm sure the VA knows this, and will just blame our symptoms on something that won't cost them. But I'm glad to see these vets getting help for what should have been stopped decades ago. And thanks to Mr Stewart for caring.
