Users of the Reading Room in the Public Library of Valladolid were pleasantly surprised when the traditional song in Swahili Wana Baraka (They are blessed, those who pray) began to ring out unexpectedly, performed by The Good News Gospel Choir conducted by Mario del Campo and shot by the cameras of Arturo Dueñas and his team .
With this flash mob the library, always awake of the new means of communication and dissemination, intends to be even closer to all citizens. This flash mob took place, not by chance, on June 20, the day before the World Music Day.

Too beautiful for words. Not too beautiful for tears.

I've come back to watch this dozens of times in the past 6 months or so. It never gets old! Absolutely amazing flash mob, I hope to witness something like this in my hometown eventually! I also have to call attention to the blonde girl in black (2:41)...every time that she's on screen, she seems to be in the best mood! It's great to see people like her, so entertainment by spontaneous performance! Fantastic video, I love it!

From what I can gather, it is an African praise hymn called Wana Baracka. It is being sung in it's native language of Swahili. It's a beautiful song that borders on being a chant. Something about this video resonate very deeply within me! If you search google or youtube for the title you will other versions of this.

A wonderful song, wonderful voices... and a wonderful idea, to bring a little bit sunshine and warmth into an atmosphere of learning, studying and maybe tenseness.

These 4minutes surely brought a tender+fresh breeze into the room and after that maybe all people could continue with their work, but surely with a little smile in their faces.

And eventually that was the most precious gift to all, who were there.
Those, who had this idea, those who gave the permission and those, who sung so perfectly: Well done.
World needs more of you, who selfless donate smiles and joy to others.

Great song! Here are the lyrics:

Wana baraka, wale waombao
They are blessed, those who pray
Yesu mwenyewe alisema. Alleluya!
Jesus himself said so. Alleluia!
Wana amani. Wana furaha. Wana uzima.
They have peace. They have joy. They have life.

For those asking for the lyrics, here they are and also translated into English. The title of the song is Wana Baraka and it's a Kenyan piece sung in Swahili:

Wana baraka wale waombao - They have blessings, those who pray;

Yesu mwenyewe alisema. Alleluya! - Jesus himself said so. Alleluia!

Wana amani - They have peace

Wana furaha - They have joy

Wana uzima - They have well-being.
