This last interaction must have felt good for him, i cant even imagine what it feels like being alone up there with no one to talk to, just using your radio as a last effort to hopefully reach someone before you die.
A beautiful last interaction

One of the most underrated small scenes in the series, they made these two have such an interesting final convo for a character we never physically got to see. Poor guy most certainly died up there all alone, but got this one last bit of human interaction before it 💔

"I speak to you from my grave." Sounds like he's come to terms

Victor's conversation with the cosmonaut was so beautiful and thought-provoking. It really makes you think about the bigger picture in this universe.

No shit, imagine a mini webisode where Vashchenko gets to see the lights go out on the world and then talks with Victor from his point of view.

Famous last words “I would give it all up for a glass of vodka” What a quote

This is one of the cooler interactions in apocalypse series and movies. A stranded sailer and a space cosmonaut talking, just talking. Through sheer luck of connecting by radio.

I just realized that, depending on when the cosmonaut went into space, he could be one of the few people that isn’t infected and won’t turn into a walker when he dies.

“I speak to you from my grave” is such a chilling statement when you consider where he is and how he isn’t going to die on earth but sooner or later his body will be returned back home..

"I saw the lights go out on the world three days before my re-entry"

I can't even begin to imagine the thoughts going through Vaschenko's mind. The horror of seeing literally everything you know to be true crumble to dust right infront of you... It's a shame the absolute travesty that was this show overshadowed the strangely beautiful moments like this

Nice little attention to detail, Victor Strand is talking on channel 16. In real life, channel 16 is the international hailing and distress frequency. Which makes sense why the Russian and Strand would be able to hear each other

It is actually the only time in the FTWD Universe that we get to know that it happened to the rest of the world and not just America.

"I speak to you from my grave" Is a chilling, ironic and sad line

I remember that voice, that's the same voice for Pavel in Metro: Last Light

Two people. one by sea, the other by stars. One beautiful conversation connecting the two and a wish granted for a very, lonely man.

Something kinda beautiful about this situation, since the cosmonaut was up there before the virus started he may have been the last to die a natural death and not turn

“I would give it all up for 1 last glass of vodka” The Words Of A Brave Man Prepared For Death…

If I’m being honest in this situation, going out as the astronaut is probably one of the best ways to go. He has no fear of the infected getting to him and he would possibly be infection free being out in space so no fear of turning after dying. He could actually sleep and relax and survive in peace until his final days. Which isn’t much, but far better than every second of every day watching over your back for walkers, or other people wanting your shit or just wanting to fuck you up for no reason

At the beginning he's singing "light blue train car (голубой вагон)" from the Soviet cartoon Cheburashka. What he's singing goes something like, "Slowly the minutes are sailing away, you should not await a meeting with them".

This scene is so… wholesome and so heartbreaking at the same time. They yearn for human connection so much that they literally do all they can just for a conversation before they die and they both accept it.
