15 Most Heavily Protected African Presidents.
Every country in the world has put in place maximum security to ensure that their president may go about their daily activities without fear. All African presidents have a security detail, but some are better guarded than others, as has always been the case. Furthermore, in order to fulfill their mandate and serve without fear, presidents deserve the highest level of protection. Presidents in most democratic countries are elected by the people, and as such, they require the highest level of security in order to carry out their duties effectively. Africa boasts some of the world's most tightly guarded presidents, but some African rulers go above and beyond to ensure their protection. The majority of the presidents on this list are presidents of countries that have experienced political and civil instability, necessitating their close protection. The majority of these presidents travel in armored vehicles and in convoys. The majority of African presidents don’t have the best protection, but the fifteen African presidents on today’s list are among the continent’s best-protected leaders.
Welcome to join us on today’s journey to find out more about Africa’s most protected presidents. Stay connected as we make this tour. Let’s get this party started.
15. Wavel Ramkalawan, Seychelles.
Since October 2020, Wavel Ramkalawan has been the President of the Republic of Seychelles. Ramkalawan is an ordained minister in the Anglican Church who began his career as a priest. He is originally from Mahé, the main island of the Seychelles. He came into contact with persons who were victims of social and civil injustices as a result of his pastoral work. As a result, Ramkalawan became interested in politics and began to question the tactics of the one-party government that was in control at the time. After his election, Ramkalawan reinforced his security unit. His entourage is made up of a convoy of motorcycles, amoured vehicles including his presidential amoured car and lots of police vehicles to defend him especially when he is not in his car.
