Workers in Illinois will begin earning paid time off on Jan. 1 under the Paid Leave for All Workers Act.

Companies will just pass the losses back to the customer. Just like California where minimum wage went to 20 bucks an hour, people got layed off

They going to be replaced by Robots soon, so will have a ton of time off.

Who pays for this? If the company's get the burden, you are going to see record numbers of lay offs, at the very least people will lose all of their company benefits regarding PTO that they have now. if the government pays for it, you are going to see even more tax increases. Nothing is free, someone always has to pay for it.

My opinion is that all of these new laws must be good. You voted for this administration and you know what kind of person this governor was and the people who surround him. I don’t suspect he lied to you, he may not have told you everything but you still voted for him because it sounded good. Others have said in the comment section that the consumer is going to pay for this and that will occur in the cost of doing business which will be passed on to you.. Some people are marginal employees and that means that they kept employed because they at least add some value to what they do. Now if you’re going to give them paid time off perhaps they’re not as valuable as they were before. Just consider one scenario: Jack and Jill work for a company in janitorial maintenance and now with the mandated time off and the new laws, the company sees it differently than the politicians. Now it is simpler to employ a company to do that work as a contractor. That means Jack and Jill are going to lose their job and any benefits that they have now.

This paid leave act is absolutely worthless 1hour for every 40 hours, I recently got a letter that I have 6 hours of leave . its mid April . Its useless! 😮
