First off, we're still a little miffed that the 7th-gen Camaro's plans went awry and that the car, which had died too soon in 2002, would do so once more after 2024. As you can see, the modern Camaro rides on the same platform as the Cadillac ATC and CTS. The CT4 and CT5, which utilise an upgraded Alpha platform, are replacing both of those Caddys. Since the Camaro wasn't converted to the new platform, nothing will be available after the 2024 model year.
The Camaro had a sales success when it was reintroduced in 2010, usually selling over 80,000 cars annually. The pent-up demand for a V8 Camaro and the innovative, retro-inspired design of the 5th generation were also contributing factors. Is The Camaro Going Away?
As a 2016 model, the sixth-generation Camaro first appeared in dealerships in late 2015. It was advertised as being lighter, more compact, and sportier than the 5th-gen because it was built on the more recent Alpha platform with its new engine options. Additionally, it cost more, and the internal space was a little smaller. With only 51,000 vehicles sold in 2018, a 25% decrease from the previous year, sales never reached the same levels as the 5th generation. Sales declined even further as a result of the terrible front-end facelift for 2019 (remember the bowtie emblem in the bumper?). Members of the GM Camaro team being transferred to other departments, such as Chief Engineer Al Oppenheimer, seemed to be the icing on the cake.
This is unfortunate because the Camaro was just beginning to find its performance groove. The track-inspired products from Ford and Dodge are easily competed with by the 650 hp LT4-powered ZL1, especially with the 1LE option, while the SS/1LE is a fantastic performance deal in the "bang-for-your-buck" category. We had high hopes for a sixth-generation Z/28, but GM terminated the project months ago.
What positive news is there, then? A 2024 Camaro Collector's Edition will be produced by GM! There's a picture going around, but from what we've heard, it's a teaser for the abandoned Z/28 programme rather than the Collector's Edition ZL1.
2024 Chevy Camaro Collector's Special Edition Details
The Camaro will reportedly be retired with a Collector's Edition package, according to rumours. Knowing GM, this implies that it will have unique accents, specific badging, and some striping. Perhaps even some updated bodywork and potential enhancements like carbon ceramic brakes, but we don't anticipate GM to invest a lot of money in a nameplate that is about to retire. The package, which will only be offered on SS, ZL1, and even LT models, will have a cap of 2,000 units. Consider this the Camaro's big finale since the CE package Camaros will be the final 2,000 Camaros produced at the Lansing big River Assembly Plant.
Oh, and Muscle Cars and Trucks has informed us that all 2,000 of the last CE Camaros will be yellow. Perhaps it's a tribute to the yellow Bumblebee Camaro that revived the fifth generation. Who knows, but it is the widely held rumour that is circulating.

I'll buy the 2024CAMARO COLLECTORS EDITION In a heartbeat if I have the money. In my lifetime I had 3 CAMAROS, and I think this will be my last one since CHEVROLET won't build them any longer. This car Is a beautiful massive machine. CAMARO is much better than the Mustang. I hope that GM changes their minds and puts this STATE OF ART MACHINE into production again.
