Honestly, I would’ve preferred if God was its own sort of divine, Full-Power/“Mystic” form; something like a limit break that pushes the body into a whole new physical and ki ruleset. Not a new base, but a whole new maximum, the pinnacle of what a mortal body can do with just a taste of divine energy.

The series could’ve then explored Goku pushing himself to reach it again, as well as finally learning how to really use it when he does. Treating it as a new “base” form just opened the doors for it to be left behind by all the other colors of the rainbow

I remember when Goku used a Godly technique to massively enhance his speed and power beyond what he could attain by mere training alone. It was called Kaioken.

It’s a very visually and thematically pleasing form due to its simplicity. Everything that’s recognizable as Goku is retained, refined, and enhanced simply by condensing his physique, softening his eyes, and making his hair slightly wavy. It’s like he attained a new base form to reach new heights of power and refinement. Fitting, considering his subsequent transformations.

In my opinion, I think they should’ve done more with SSG before going into SSB that quick because it ruined the potential for both forms to be unique and special in their own rights but because they abused the hell out of SSB both transformations became the new cannon fodder transformations that get shown like it’s mystical and special to then just get completely shitted on by their opponent

Super Saiyan God was so cool. I wish that we got to see more of SSG and got to see SSG and SSB and SSBK/SSBE get a lot of W's for some moments. I also wish we got to see Goku's God Forms Regeneration and Healing abilities more often. They really should and need to give SSG and SSB and SSBK/SSBE way more shine

Ive always loved the relax and toned look of SSG. Its always been my favorite form for goku with ssb being a reslly good look for vegeta

One thing alot of people dont mention is the aura. Dbs was when we finally got new auras for these types of forms and SSGs firey aura is so nice

The things I personally like about Super Saiyan God is that it’s unique and works well with Toriyama’s method of making weaker looking characters actually stronger than they appear (don’t judge a book by its cover so to speak). Though I like Super Saiyan 4 as well for different reasons, I have to admit from my perspective that ever since it was introduced, some fan artists unknowingly went against Toriyama’s method when designing their own SS forms and ended up making many of them over designed messes (Super Saiyan 5, 100 and Infinity comes to mind).
