I just watched this and learned so much! It's crazy to think the TikTok algorithm is actually on our side, trying to find the right audience for our videos. I never knew that every 200 to 300 views act like a checkpoint where TikTok sees how people are engaging. That totally explains the 200 view jail I've been in! Also, focusing on the first few seconds of the video really is crucial to grab attention. I'll definitely pay more attention to my hooks and keep my videos short. I'd like to mention to the people struggling (like i did starting) learn it, study it, listen to the tone in your voice, the layout of the video, the captions should match the hashtags and what your saying in the video. 98% of a weak video is because the person gets lazy, it has to be like a puzzle. even down to length in video based on your topics.

"Post time doesn't matter" might be right for you. But it's the exact oposite for my niche. Peeps in that niche only really seem active over the weekends, so during the week basically all posts perform poorly while on weekends I get a massive boost. I think this makes sense because if mostly none of my target audience is online, the 200 views trial is performed on not that fitting people who will poorly engage with these vids, so the algorithm gets the false impression of a bad performing video.

We post daily shorts for over a month now and constantly try to better our content. We had 2 or 3 "viral" shorts on our english and german channel that had a few thousand views, but mostly all of the other videos are getting ZERO views. Why is that? I make marching band content. It’s very niche, but there are marching band accounts with very large followings. I just need the algorithm to push the stuff out to the right people so my watch time and watched video percentage aren’t trash. I’ve plateaued at 13, 000 followers and about 1, 000-5, 000 views per video for a few months now and it’s very frustrating. I used to have videos about once a month that would skyrocket over 100, 000 views, and I would gain 500-1, 000 followers a month.
