Can I use the same approach to calculate the temperature at extremely short distances in the solar atmosphere(somewhere in the solar corona) ?

So what provides the temperature? It is interesting to note that the sun has a temperature and the earth has a temperature but the inbetween do not. So a combination of light photons, radiation, and trapped atmospher?
