Finding a good stylist is SO hard. I am so sorry 😭 tbh I'd try and find a black hair stylist who has a loooot of experience with curls and see how that goes. Most people don't realize that a half inch can become 3 inches once the curls come back

I saw that first snip and almost screamed. No way to blend that into your existing hair. What my curly girl friends do is blow out their hair, trim the ends dry, and refine it wet and curly. That way you get your split ends without changing the shape much.

Bad haircuts when you have curly hair are so regular I just cut mine myself I’m too scared to let anyone else cut

Im so sorry this happened to you!
Im 100% sure that some hairstylists got their education online…they are just not able to understand their clients at all!
I haven’t been to a salon in about 7-8 years because the stylists mess up my curly/wavy hair EVERY TIME, I can actually do it better myself…which is tragic when you know they are supposed to be the professionals.
Im never going to a hairstylist again in my life!!

Most people don’t know how to cut curly hair. That’s why as someone with curly hair, I don’t go to any salons or cut my hair lol if I did tho, I would find a salon SPECIFICALLY for curly hair and spend the extra money cuz my hair is important to me. ❤

I remember going into my appointment with my hair length being half way down my back. I showed the stylist an image I found with short hair, layers and curtain bangs. I told them specifically that I wanted to keep my hair longer than what the picture had shown, and they agreed. At the end of my appointment my hair was wet, and the length looked shorter than I had anticipated, but I wasn’t truly freaking out. It wasn’t until after we payed and I started driving that my hair started drying and my curls started shrinking, where I found out it was now barely touching my shoulders. I remember staring at myself at a mirror at target, almost in tears because I could even pull my hair up. I haven’t gotten a serious haircut in years, and I now have a fear of salons 🙃🙃

And this is exactly why I haven't been to get a haircut in like 5 years!! I'm sooo sick of people cutting all my hair off when that's not what I'm asking for!
