Thank You for the excellent explanation! I created a cone with a 24 inch base, 10 inch height, 1 1/2 top opening. While the drawing turned out considerably larger than yours because of the larger dimensions, the pattern turned out perfect using your method and instructions.

If you draw a half circle at the base, that same divider distance will then divide a quarter of that circle into three even spaces which makes it twelve for an exact pattern. Good vid.

Hi, I'm a bit confused, making a cone shape, but a low cone lets say a flat view of 300mm diameter across the top and 352mm diameter across the bottom, I do the sweep with a compass to get the arc, once I do the calculation of 3.14 x 352 = 1, 105.28 when cut out and joined the diameter at the bottom of the cone is way too short, what am i doing wrong?
