I have an ‘07 Chevy Colorado that I love dearly. It was my first truck and I bought it by myself. I recently got a new Dodge Ram and my wife asked me to sell my Chevy. I haven’t been able to do it. All the days going to the creek, camping, kayaking, just pulling over and eating lunch on the tailgate somewhere they mean something to me. That truck got me where I was going and where I am now.

I still own my first truck and I made it very clear to my wife before we got married that the truck was part of the deal and it wasn’t ever going anywhere.

Non car people have a hard time understanding but the memories in that thing are priceless. It’s what I took my wife on my first date in, the countless hours I spent elbow deep in grease working on it, and the priceless journeys I’ve taken in it. It’s a special relationship between a man and his vehicle.

My husband and I had to do the same thing when we bought our first house. He had a 65 Mustang that he had worked on since high school. We loved that car and hated to see it go, but like so many things in life when its time to let go you know. You are not going to miss it. Being a responsible man who puts his family first is going to give you blessings and confidence. Remember nothing is forever, there can be more cars to fix up later you don't have to let go of your hobby. Plus you might discover something else you enjoy doing. So no regrets move forward knowing you did the right thing at the right time for the right reasons. :)
