Liz Truss storms off stage after Led By Donkeys unveil lettuce banner saying 'I crashed the economy'

Former prime minister Liz Truss stormed off the stage at an event saying ‘that’s not funny’ after noticing a banner featuring a lettuce behind her thanks to a stunt by campaign group Led By Donkeys.

The banner, which was lowered down from behind the stage curtain said 'I crashed the economy' and featured the image of a lettuce with googly eyes.

Truss's tenure in No10 was outlasted by an iceberg lettuce in a challenge set by the Daily Star newspaper in October 2022.
