My grandpa got me a A guitar because I asked for one and all he asked for was for me to learn a song he could sleep to:) he’s always wanted to play guitar but was born with two fingers missing on his left hand so he could never play, he was so happy when I asked for one and the smile on his face when I played this song was worth spending an hour to learn it. So thank you for making this.

Edit: Small update, my grandpa passed away a few months ago, me and my family took the loss hard but I still played for him one last time before he passed. I had learned more songs etc etc but I still played this one, just one more time, it was the first he ever got to hear me play and sadly the last. I love my grandpa to death and still am doing my best to keep on getting better for him<3

Great Beginner song, I was happily shocked when my 12 year old sister wanted to learn, so i started teaching her this, its only been 3 days and she can almost play half the song whitout any previus experience. Im a proud big brother

The first song I've learned after 3 weeks of playing guitar. Took me 10 days, and i can now play this whole song. 15 minutes a day is all it took. Break it into sections. And then just put them together. It is so much easier for me to memorize tabs than it was for sheet music when i played Alto sax. Thank you!

I started playing guitar in 7th grade because of my uncle, i loved hearing him play when I went over to his house and I always wanted to learn so I started taking a class in middle school to get started and I played until high school when they stopped the classes but I did play on my own every now and again but my depression got really bad and I put up my guitars because I never had the motivation to play them and it all felt to draining for me to do or learn, especially since I still wasn’t great. I put down the guitar almost 6 years ago now. This ain’t a sad story though because slowly I started to heal myself, I spent a lot of my time with close friends but also alone to recalibrate and figure out what it was I loved and wanted and after 8 years of major depression, 3 attempts and a lot of internal searching resulting in some painful and traumatic discoveries, I picked up my guitar again and played (if you wanna call it that haha 😂) this song and I realized how much I missed it, the slicing of my fingers and indents from playing so long. The ache of my hands and neck from focusing in one spot so long. The moments of pure ecstasy and joy when you finally play it and it sounds exactly like when you hit play on the song, It all made me realize how much I loved playing and I just wanted whoever reads this to know that even though times are hard, one day you will find yourself doing the things you used to love so much and you will feel that sense of peace and joy and love fill your soul. It will fill you so full you might burst into tears but those are the moments that we live for, our purpose to keep going. It’s the little things in life that will help you realize just how wonderful this world can be. Please keep going, keep your chin high and regardless of what comes your way just know that better days do lie ahead maybe not in the way you thought, but in the way you needed ❤

My dad plays the guitar in a worship band at my church, so he knows a-lot. he is a wonderful player, and I’m learning to play the guitar to make him happy. He’s been struggling a lot to I hope even if he died I’ll be able to play a song for him
