Google is ditching SMS codes #shorts

Google is phasing out SMS authentication for billions of users. Why? Because SMS codes can be phished, intercepted, or hijacked through SIM swap scams. Instead, QR codes are coming to Gmail logins—faster, safer, and not tied to your phone number. But are QR codes truly secure?

This will depend on the hacking technique... if there's a rootkit, rat or some kind of backdoor that allows for screengrabbing this is a redundant safety feature... the sms uses a different kind of connection... I'm not sure this is safer...

"QR codes safer and harder to fish"? Really? I would imagine, that trying to get someone's SIM card, would be considered a little more difficult. Who knew? Lol. Just busting your kb's (kilaballs). Lol. Cheers
