This abandoned mansion was once lived in by a man named Anders, born and raised in Switzerland, who had a strong French heritage. His ancestors were descendants of a noble family who once owned this beautiful chateau in France during the early 1700s but lost it in war. Its been said that they were also part of the Freemasons.

since a teen Anders had always dreamed of regaining his family's chateau and restoring it to its former glory. He had made his fortune in the mining industry, and after years of hard work and dedication, he finally had enough money to make his dream come true.

In the 1980s, Anders purchased the abandoned chateau and moved in with his family. They spent years renovating and restoring the place, bringing back parts of its original beauty but was proven to be very difficult to find builders that were familiar with its foundation. None the less he was proud to be able to live in the same place that his ancestors had called home centuries before.

However, things took a turn for the worse when Anders mining company went bankrupt in 2013. He could no longer afford to maintain the castle and had to move his family elsewhere. The castle remained empty and abandoned for several years.

Eventually, the castle caught the attention of local explorers who ventured inside to explore its once-majestic halls. They were surprised to find that the castle was now inhabited by a homeless person, who had made a home for themselves in the abandoned building.

Despite the sad turn of events, the castle still stands as a reminder of his connection to his French heritage and his determination to make his dreams a reality.

Steve I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate you and your videos. I will be 69 years old in a couple of months. I can't really do anything much anymore. I have a very bad back and can't stand for very long at a time, so I watch your videos and Carlos and a few other ones for enjoyment. I hope we can go fishing this summer. Loving this video as always. You are a great young man. I know your parents have got to be so proud of you. Until next time please stay safe and I love you lots!

That place is amazing! So beautiful. If I were homeless, and could get away with living in a place like that, rent free, heck yeah I would do it. What do you have to lose? It's beautiful and as always Steve, you bring these places back to their original glory for the viewer. And it's not hard to imagine at all with this one. Thank you for the fabulous explore.

The dolls were mostly around the liquor bottles. Maybe to scare the kids from daring to try some??!!! I think yes. This was a beautiful video. Beautiful home. Thanks so much for visiting and sharing.

Such a stunning place, so many gorgeous furnishings left behind. The sunlight coming through made everything look so beautiful. I have never seen three attics before and a swing too no less. Surprised the kitchen was so small for such a large mansion and the statues outside were fabulous. This was an amazing explore, really enjoyed this!!

The red cabinet you found is a very rare French piece of furniture called “boule”. Their made in pairs, there is one engraved black on red and the other the other way round. They’re quite difficult to find in vintage communities

Hi Steve
Watching your videos from Long Island, New York.
The Japan series sounds good. This place was still
beautiful and as you said it’s pretty clean. It’s
unbelievable that a homeless person lives there
for free. Nice work Steve. Keep making great
videos and stay safe and well.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍

Your serene, calm voice is the best narrator's voice I've heard yet. I just don't think that place is as abandoned as you seem to think. It may be just a seasonal home, now.
