In fiction, a MacGuffin is an object, device, or event that is necessary to the plot and the motivation of the characters, but insignificant, unimportant, or irrelevant in itself.

This is how one young man, nicknamed "Target," feels about himself after some recent... events. These events being the discovery that he can morph between his new monster form... and his human form, and the persecution of his body by hundreds of science facilities.

Target has not known peace since. Will someone save him? Can he save himself? He can run, he can hide.... but for how long?

This does such a good job of showing Target's personality. Just the little things like how he flips off the people who are detaining him, how he says they are creeps because they want his body, and how he is shown to be rather introverted and is annoyed by all this attention. Even his vocabulary like using the word "cool" paints a fun picture of who he is. It makes him very recognizable despite us only knowing him for 4 minutes. 👍

That probably means his first transformation happened because he wished he weren't notable at all.

FINALLY, MY BOI FUKASE COMES TO VANISHING WORLD

You know, when I saw this premiere. I wasn't quite sure how to put how this felt into words. But I think I can provide another one of my patented mini-essays on this video. Most of your videos are fun, exciting, and otherwise just entertaining to dissect. But this one, this one actually sits with me, simply due to the stark contrast. In pretty much every other video in this series, it's been an apocalyptic scenario with a proxy that ends up meeting their downfall at the end (save for arbitrary sermon, since I honestly believe that the proxy in that already received their association punishment before the events of the video even started.) and I love that set up, don't get me wrong. It's like a monster of the week show, which is one of my favorite types of shows, it's why I love season one of Code: Lyoko so much. But I'm getting off topic, the reason this contrasts is because it's more of a slice of life gone wrong scenario. We got our main character, trying to exist, having been though a lot of bullshit and has been hurt several times, with witnesses that do nothing to assist. This is clearly a person who wants to be left alone, because whenever he gets near people in any capacity, it goes horribly wrong. Prime example is when he goes to a doctor after being turned into a monster, and the docter gives him (what I assume are) prototype meds to get rid of a monster form and return him to a human state, however instead of simply removing that monstrous form, it unintentionally gives him control over it, and allows him to change between the two, this is revealed at the worst time. He's just, once again, trying to exist, when attention gets drawn to him, but now it's worse. He's now on the run because he knows what'll happen to him, what extremes scientists will go to, to study and understand his ability. However the effort is futile. In the end he ends up getting bits chopped off, and is constantly experimented on until he breaks completely.

This is honestly the darkest episode you've done yet, and I really feel that way because I identify so much with Target, having been through a lot of situations where I've been tormented, picked on, singled out, and otherwise bullied or taken advantage of, that sometimes I'd rather not leave the house, and when I do I act normal in public, but I'm secretly praying no shit starts up.

You've really outdone yourself with this one, and that's not sarcasm. I'm honestly impressed with how well this episode was done. Amazing work.

I hope that Target’s able to get his wings grown back. It would be horrible to be able to fly only to lose that ability. Also I just think his design looks cool with the wings.

I really wasn't expecting this, but i feel it's an amazing addition to the series. It sheds a lot more light on life outside of the cataclysmic events and how societies trying to function in spite of all this.
