It is misleading to say that the SA govt has played a significant role in dealing with climate change. It has uttered pretty words but for the last number of years has done precious little to transform the energy system. It has consistently
blocked new renewable energy projects from coming onstream. Thank Gwede Mantashe and his devotion to the coal industry and the various BEE businesses participating in this industry. A fact: of the G20 economies, SA relies on coal for energy the most ___ 86%. And coal is the most carbon polluting energy source of all.

Climate change is real and global warming is upon us. We can work together with the world to at least contribute to the improvements in the future rather than wait until it is way too late.
