No one expected MAX's pole after the practice session but he's done it.

That change of direction through the turn 1, 2, 3 complex is unreal. I think that is peak Max Verstappen and that's what gave him the pole today.

Max was a beast in the car. Mclaren rocketship was not sufficient for their drivers.

The tow cancelled the mistake in the last corner. I think he would have had pole if the tow didn’t happen and the mistake not made.

Those last two tighter corners and his speed and position were nearly millimetre perfect. That last little correction (save?) lost him a tenth on Piastri when you see the side by side, but he is on the limit almost the entire time. What a driver.

Hulk and Max being friendly really paid out on this one. Both drivers helped each other in quali. That's not to say that this was all planned btw or that Max (or Hulk) didn't perform great.
