*”The first step, is to open the bottle”*
Ahh yes a lot of people forget about this step, i cant stress how important it is.

Technically it's drinkable, but you can only drink it once.

An alternative to this would be to run it through an active charcoal filter. It would also leave you able to drink the liquid

Me: wondering if it still tastes like coke
NileRed: “but the mystery liquid I added was bleach.”
Me: “ok nevermind then.”

Now we must know: can soda be "bleached" with something that will leave it just as edible as before (maybe ozone gas)?

The most important step to anything involving a carbonated soft drink: open the container, and hear that wonderful sound.

I mean... It's not, "undrinkable"

Fun fact: *the Coke is already totally crystal clear normally*, you just have to be viewing it at 900nm wavelength in the near infrared. You can see it for yourself using a piece of exposed old photographic film with any camera that doesn't have an IR filter inside, or on a video here from a few years ago called "Homemade Infrared Camera - Coca Cola".

I was like “huh I wonder if it tastes any different”

Then he said it was bleach.

Do not let slip the fact that he mentioned the horrible smell before saying it was undrinkable, implying it is undrinkable only because he really hates the taste of bleach.

So today I'm gonna teach you how to live life:

To get started, the first step *is to breathe oxygen*

Classic Nile, love it.

Thanks for clearly distinguishing between clear and colourless, people conflate the two so often

Easy way:

1. Open the bottle.
2. Finish drinking it (just throw away the drink, not the plastic can)
3. You have a empty cola bottle.
4. Add water.

Now you have a clear cola.

My father uses iodine tablets for water purification on long hiking trips. What I didn't know is that there's an optional "cleanup tablet" that you can add after the iodine tablets. For whatever reason the cleanup tablet caused the water we were purifying to almost immediately start clearing up. Eventually it looked pristine with the exception of some small particulates at the bottom. It was as if all the impurities clumped together and fell to the bottom. I wonder if they would also make coke transparent? 🤔

I've had a coke that was sitting near some LED lights for a long time. The label was discolored and the liquid was lighter than the regular color. I guess blue/UV light also destroys the color.
