There's an episode of Mad Men where Don Draper is pitching an ad campaign to Kodak executives. If you've seen it, you'll remember it's the one where Don begins to describe the idea of The Carousel which is basically a circular slide projector, a novel idea at the time, being like a time machine. He narrates as he is showing slides of his own family during happier times which never happened the way he remembered them as happens to all of us. He says the word nostalgia is a Greek word which means the pain of an old wound that has never healed.

Hearing this song sends you back to a time which may or may not have ever happened. A painful time maybe but one that we want to return to anyway.
