In this video, I'll show you how to host static web sites on IBM's Public Cloud using the very inexpensive Object Storage service which supports cross country replication for disaster recovery protection. Additionally, I'll show you how to upload files using CyberDuck as an easy to use User Interface.

Hi Bill,

Have you still got the links of the official tutorial you have used in the video? I searched for it and I got something completely different.

I did find one thing very interesting and that is they give 25GB free storage every month and this means the static websites will incur no costs at all. I don't know about traffic costs. For a small website that has static info for reference only (e.g. bookmarks of important links) then the cost would be minimal ( in pennies rather that whole pound).

I have created a free account and now I will upload some basic web pages and some bootstrap files and wait for a month, or two to see the cost of using this. Azure has similar offerings so it's worth exploring as well.

Thanks for the video and hope you'll continue creating more videos like this one. I like to have short videos that I can watch a couple of times to get the main points. Links to the official docs or your blog would be very useful in this respect.

Kind regards.

Thank you. I have created object storage and a bucket and I can browse to a page in it. The thing I cannot do is to configure a custom domain name for it. I have done much searching and all I find are instructions that seem to require Cloud Internet Services (CIS) and as best as I can see CIS is not cheap.
