Savannah I would like to thank you for writing this song! For 23 years I have waited for a song to relate to regarding the trauma and abuse my adopted mom caused me for years!!! After I my daddy passed away I was destroyed as a young girl because of that woman and for years I allowed her to controlled my life until I finally recieved help! I cried so hard listening to this all those emotions of pain resentment and hate came out the first time I listened to it!!! I instantly felt relief! So again thank you so much!!!!

As a step-child myself, I understand the pain. I was verbally and physically abused as a child for being my father`s son. Now as an adult of 4 daughters and a grandson, it is amazing to see how the step mother treats us, especially my children. Her and my father have been divorced for over 20 years, but the Christian in me chose to "lover her like she never loved me". Amazing song and story.
