Notice how he is portrayed in 'Forrest Gump" relative to Kennedy and Johnson. Nixon ended that damn war!

I could listen to this man reveal true American History all day long. A fascinating politician and story teller.

I am so tired of having to defend Nixon, and see his achievements get ignored all for a mistake that is now standard in todays politics. My History teacher painted a very different image of Nixon, and he himself almost seemed indoctrinated.
Im not saying Nixon was the best president, or completely good man. He was a man of flaws, faults, and mistakes. But he was intelligent and did more for the US than most presidents have done since. Learning about Nixon through this channel and his tapes that are not shown in schools demonstrate how much of a misunderstood man he is. I can definitely see him as being the last (or one of the last) who was not within the "shadow government" or whatever that could mean, the government we have today. It does not make sense for his image to be demonized for something normal in todays world, it only makes one suspicious of the modern Gov.

I'm on the other side of politics but I like and respect Nixon, and agree with a lot of what he said.

There was a dirty side to him, but hey it's politics people, it's a dirty, dirty game.

Nixon was one of our great philosophers! =^., .^= He knew too much and that made Washington D.C. nervous.

He sounds like a man who could converse with Washington, Lincoln or Trump.

The media has its role in running the show. Some journalists believed they could change the course of action by an article regardless of understanding and regardless of the outcome; for them it is a show off.

It's just a personal opinion, but I've always perceived Nixon as a man who took people in extremes. You were either with him or against him. He viewed the media as, predominantly, a political opponent and treated them as such. And yes, with good reason in many instances. In a situation not dissimilar to what we have today, there are many in the media who would rather appoint and back an ineffective leader rather than an effective one they don't like.
With that being said, even under his own admission Nixon was not charismatic which certainly helps when you're a public figure dealing with the media. President Obama's tenure, in terms of his record, is sub-standard at best. He was, however, charismatic which has defected a lot of attention away from his flaws.

Nixon is apparently underrated, but proctoscopes are sometimes warranted. The game may be dirty - even rigged, but 'it's not fair that I got caught' isn't a valid defense.

Democrats will say Nixon was the best in foreign affairs.
