Undertaker is written off of television after suffering from a serious groin injury for most of 1999. He would still compete on a limited basis at house shows at least until December of 1999 often times teaming in tag matches with his former Ministry Of Darkness members Mideon and Viscera. Undertaker was originally scheduled to return at the No Way Out PPV in February but suffered yet another injury by tearing his pectoral muscle while training for his return just 10 days before the event. His return was then pushed back to Judgement Day 2000 under a brand new persona as "The American Badass!"

Just for fun.. Had Undertaker returned at No Way Out instead of Judgment Day, do you guys think he still would have come back as The American Badass or his Unholy Alliance persona that he left with? What would have happened in storyline? Let us know your thoughts!

“And venture into the night” aka “let’s go to a strip club and get wasted”

Always thought this was such a weird exit.. August 1999 was the end of the best period of WWF for me

American bad a** sneak peak. But he really left because of injury. That's why Big show fought his battles for him.

My favourite version of the Undertaker ventured into the night and never returned again in his Ministry persona. I was at the time not happy to see the ABA debut at Judgement Day since his Ministry persona never had an ending.😑

If you think about it he was a small version of the American badass right here he set it up with this look here

Taker desperately needed this break. If he didn't take it his career would have ended in the early 00s as opposed to 2020.

If it wasn't for the Undertaker's groin injury we would of seen the deadman 8 months sooner! 💯👌👍

This was the last time that we would see Taker before the dawn of the new millennium. He wouldn't be back on WWE tv until 05/21/00 (238 days.)

If only I knew that this was the last time we would see Undertaker for 8 months. He is my favorite. I did enjoy this side of The Undertaker. The character part. But his matches in 1999 were so so. I think his best one was at Fully Loaded. HHH also proved himself that night. He had to win a certain amount of matches. In fact he reminded me of Undertaker on that night. Because he had a casket match, an inferno, and a boiler room brawl. All 3 Undertaker has already been in.
