Jesmond Peak, a Mountain Biking Gem of British Columbia - Here. There. Everywhere. S3, Ep. 5

Jesmond Peak feels as if it splits British Columbia right down the middle. On one side, the breathtaking peaks of the Chilcotin mountain range loom on the horizon, and to the other, rolling Cariboo plateau stretches long into the province interior. The Stswecem’c Xget’tem First Nation have been living on and caring for this land since time immemorial, and they’ve taken steps to continue to do so through recreation and tourism but with integrated valuable lessons.

Lost Marbles DH was built by First Journey Trails in partnership with the Stswecem’c Xget’tem. The trail is a 765m drop down Jesmond starting in the alpine below the peak. The construction of the bike trails is just a beginning. While a few years out, there are plans for having eBike rentals and shuttles available. In addition, there will be horseback riding and cultural teachings like weaving, harvesting and fishing.

Miranda has travelled the world on her bike, and after spending time at Jesmond Peak she was left reflecting on the idea of seeking treasure all over the world only to find it in one’s own home. Often what we seek is much closer than we imagine. Travel around the globe is so easy, the world sometimes feels small, but the weekend we spent at Jesmond Peak is a reminder.

This is so awesome Miranda! To me, this is your calling. You've always been so kind each and every time I've bumped into you on the trail or events, there's no one better for this type of promotion.

This is so well done and such a good insight into that area. Love to see the first Nations getting involved and kudos to you for bringing it to light

Great video Miranda! Inspired me to get on my bike and check out this area. It's now on the list. Cheers

I had the privilege of doing some work near the Big Bar Ferry a few years back. It was truly a beautiful part of BC. I'm putting the Guest Ranch on my list of places to visit.

This trail is only an hour and a half drive from my house and i still haven't gotten up there even though it's high on my list of places i want to ride. Maybe next days off😁

My bro has a place on Big Bar Lake. Rode this sick track last year. Cool to see it being highlighted by SRAM. Would love to see a bigger network develop. Bit of a mission to get to.

Hi, are there other trails in this place? Also is that a fire lookout tower on top? I'm from Oz.
