He and Fred Hand completely ripped off Tuesday Morning shareholders (of which I was one). They massively diluted shareholders without their approval, and got around it with some legal loophole that "because they were in imminent danger of bankruptcy" it didn't require a shareholder vote. Fred Hand got his $2.5 million payout, Tai delisted the stock (to avoid NASDAQ scrutiny), unloaded all his Pier 1 assets into Tuesday Morning, then filed bankruptcy and closed all stores. Total loss for all retail shareholders. Fortunately it wasn't too much money for me, but I'm still angry that there was no investigation done (as far as I know).
