In this video Isaac gives a short basic tutorial on the Market Profile and Volume Profile. Simply explained, the Market Profile is based on price and time and tells you how the market perceives value. Each letter is called a TPO and represents a price that the market traded in a period of time. Another way of imagining this is as if a stack of candlesticks have collapsed on top of each other and thereby formed something that looks like a distribution.

The row with the most TPOs is called the "Point of Control" and is the most frequently traded price. The "Value Area" is then defined as a 70% range of the most frequently traded prices of the day. On the other hand, the Volume Profile is similar except that it looks at price and volume instead of price and time. Using the Market Profile and Volume Profile to understand value is one of the keys to learning how to use these tools like a pro trader.
