You need to rename this video to something like 'Look Ma, No Prop" so people like me wouldn't need to have that pointed out. :-)
Seriously cool idea, removing the whirly wing-and-fingerchopperupper and still allow taxiing.
Add a high resolution GPS receiver (i.e. 10 points per second), a recording scale, and a high-ish frame rate camera pointed at the risers (or some other riser angle sensor) and you might have a great test bed to determine how easy a given wing launches with empirical data and not just subjective feeling.

Interesting design, using old moped rear end?
I have a 500watt bike motor I think I can adapt to this.
