Hašek (as a player) reminds me an old kung-fu master. Classical goalie is a student of kung-fu bound by forms he practices over and over again. But a true master (after necessarily practicing these forms for a while) recognizes their limits and leaves them behind for the sake of fluidity, intuition and natural self-expression....

Hasek is a hockey legend. His accolades, his style was different. He may very well be the best goalie of all time. The 6 seasons between 1993 to 1999 were unbelievable...God like performance

You watch how goaltending and the league has evolved and even with that I think that his style would allow him to be successful in any era you drop him in including today. As technical as the position is today he would still stand out and be one of the best. I grew up a Roy fan but the older I get the more I appreciate Hasek.

Was talking hockey with some friends, as the goalie I get asked goalie questions all the time, and I got asked who’s a goalie we’ll never see the likes of again? and the only name that could ever come to mind is Hasek, genuinely a one of a kind goalie for how he played, he was the definition of controlled chaos, you never knew what he was about to do and that made him just that much harder to score on.
