Rivets are ideal fasteners for many projects in the blacksmith shop. To cleanly form a rivet head you will need a heading tool or header for each size rivet you might use.

Every time I start a project, tool build, etc, I always check your page first. "Lemme just check to see if Black Bear has a video before I get started..." NINE HOURS project delayed haha

Another great video!

For the final rounding of the tool, I actually ended up using a ball bearing and a couple good whacks to set it. Worked like a charm, still using it to this day.

Lame joke This is definitely a way to get "a head" in our riveting game. :D Thanks for the video! Great, great work!

I’ve got a set from Ken’s Custom Iron that are fantastic! I’ve never thought of making them with different head designs, so I guess I’ve got a new project!

I like the bandaid on your finger. Makes it appear as though you actually work for a living. Not just make videos for profit. Great video. Enjoyed it.

Wonderful video, John. Your selection of subjects and your teaching style are great. In fact, in all my years in schools, only one professor in my freshman year in college was as good as you are, and I appreciate you as much as I appreciate him. Thank you!

I moved to an anvil with a 30mm hardy hole and I found some square tube to put a sleeve on the hardy tools to bring them up to 30mm. Worked well for me and would be easy to reverse.
