Another great video, I read your book recommendation "The comfort Crisis" by Michael Easter before I did your Misogi last year.
I try to practice what you're saying in my daily life. I recently started a new job and I'm having to readjust my physical exercise habits. I sometimes feel guilty but I know I only need to find time to get some form physical exercise done everyday. I must try a wild camp with minimum gear soon. Please keep up your great work💯👊

Completely agree with embracing discomfort. Oddly, nothing feels better than being cold and wet outdoors, doing physical things. It makes me feel alive!

"Lifespan may be up but healthspan is down." That sums up the problems a modern, convenience saturated society has created. I enjoy the topics you discus brother. Thank you for sharing. Never get too civilized.

I clicked on this video because I’m too comfortable and it’s really impacting my productivity. This video is a good wake up call to get out of my comfort zone

You said a lot of things I've been thinking about lately. The disconnect between modern life and our wiring. The exagerated meal schedule compliance. The need for exercise. These are all things we should become more aware of as a civilization.

Been trying to put this into words for the last 6 months but you absolutely hit the nail on the head. Sent this to all of my loved ones as this is a real crisis we’re facing as human beings during this time in our history. Looking forward to watching more of your content.

Finally carved out time for uncomfortable activities later this month!! Last time I did one, I loved it so much (once I was home!) I now have an excited/fearful feeling of expectation for what's coming up. There's a % of my brain that's already making up excuses before I even get out there and another % telling me how much I'll love it😝It's certainly invigorated my training. The unwelcome difficulty is different from seeking out uncomfortable challenges, yet the latter somehow makes the former more manageable. Thanks so much for all the quality, practically helpful wisdom you share.

Just came across this in my feed. Great video ! I am fortunate enough to have a close friend with land here in the North East, and we did alot of camping and getting out with the horse and carts last summer with our sons. Can't wait to get out again this year the kids absolutely love it ! At one with nature and great memories for them to have when I'm gone 👍👍

Really like "find your discomfort time"! Uninspired in UK I moved to Norway for the outdoors. Today I've been wild camping and fishing in the mountains with my youngest - a standard evening weekend for past 20+ years. Make your discomfort time everyday and you'll be inspired everyday 👍🏻

"our ancestors sailed miles in the whisper of modern technology" WOW! What a well-structured lecture.
I mean I love it. I learnt essence of discomfort.
Earlier on, been trying to escape working out so as to build a career, but I see it ending up in expensive medication. This videoshed some light on whats to be done first!

100% agree with this.

I have a theory that pain is more valuable in hindsight than comfort.
My favorite memories are the ones that were hell to live through.

I grew up in the Cederberg mountains of South Africa where the nearest town was a two hour drive on dirt roads and we regularly had to slaughter our livestock for food. That just does not exist here in the UK, and I really miss it.
To make up for it, I like to spend weekends out camping without any food, and that does it for me.
I take a fishing rod with and scrounge for what I can and normally get by alright. Worst case, it's a couple days without food, no biggie.

As clishe as it is this video gave me a lot of inspiration. 'm so glad you didn't fall in to the pit of blaming people for seeking out the comfort. You explained how to get the proper balance and how that can help

I have recently volunteered to be an instructor with the Army cadets. I have no military experience what so ever. I actually work in the NHS! Just wanted to do something different after being locked in my house working from home for 2 years during the pandemic. I'm way out of my depth and in a few weeks I will be sleeping out under a tarp for the first time in my life. Wish me luck luck!! Love your videos by the way.

I spend a lot of time in the woods doing my thing because that's where I prefer to be as I find life difficult at times with my bipolar but in saying that my discomfort zone is social events so I put myself in to the discomfort zone not just for me but for my family so I joined my son's rugby club to help teach my lad and his mates as a coach.
I also endeavour to go on the various activities and functions my partner and children are doing and yeah it's hard but they are chuffed I did and it does help me to be mentally healthier.

Life is good 🙂

Great video and deep inside ourselves, we all know what we need to do, but just don’t take the baby steps to initiate action. But that’s where guys like you come in to keep reminding us of what our focus should be. Thx again!
