In a perfect world every football club and league would require the 50+1 rule

With only Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg being the original non fan owned teams; along with Leipzig being the most recent non fan owned team; all other teams follow this rule

Gotta love this rule. This makes football be football still and not NBA or the American imitation of it. Big W for Germany, Spain and South America there

50 plus 1 should be for every club in the world imo

And yet it is a never ending fight to protect this system and fan cultures against those greedy clubs, which are wanting to end 50+1. Luckily, it doesnt matter which fan or ultra you are, in this topic we are united!

I think this rule good for balance the league. However Bundesliga not really balance. We have Bayern who got more on tv commercial. I think if we want more Balance we need to make an FFP. If for big team its maximum 50% spending for small team its around 70%.

In spain clubs are also owned by the fans

I wish every league in Europe had this rule, then we wouldn't have billionaire owners buying up every player and creating a super league (the Prem)

this is of course hypothetical a great system, but when you look at germany and at bayern specifically who have financial dominance over the rest of germany, you wonder why they constantly run german football

Good reasons to support German football.

50+1 shouldn't have any exception like in Hoffenheim, Leverkusen and Wolfsburg, and loophole where Red Bull Leipzig using it's employees as club members and have the power to reject any application of its fans.

They use this in industry as well. Great idea

So something that I learnt from Seto Kaiba about majority ownership being anything over 50 is also being applied in German soccer, damn that fact keeps appearing in stuff and i keep relearning it

So glad that Real Madrid has always been fan owned & it will continue to be so

Shame the premier League would never implement this! To far gone down the sports washing road and will only get worse in the coming years

Too bad the Premier League doesn't have this rule. What's the point of Premier League being the top 1 league, they aren't even dominating UCL. Sure Man City are treble winners but Real Madrid is higher than that being the most successful in the UCL, even Barcelona who is outplayed by City is higher than City. I'd say Bundesliga should be the number 1, they have the best fanbase and have the least toxic club owners.

wonder what happens if 50+1 rule was implemented in the premier league

I remember seeing a shark tank clip where a guy basically had a 50 plus one rule on his investment and if he had taken that investment he would have got less money I think. I think the shark called it something rude as well like the safety tax or something (rude in tone not description)
