First time flying DJI Mavic Pro and I FAILED!

Whenever you first activate the drone, always calibrate the imu as well as the compass . The imu adjusts the internal gyros in order to stabilize the drone whilst its in the air

How is your Mavic flying till now ? When i flew mine, i was also panicky, dare not fly too far or too high, now getting used to it but I noticed you need to tap on the screen in order to auto focus if not you will not get a clear video or pic, keep flying more !!

The windshield shade was the best idea. I'm going to get one now I didn't want to spend 34 $ on a held pad that coat 4.99 at the auto store

Man, that update took a while. I don't remember it being that big when mine updated. I would calibrate outside in an area with no metals around. Especially the compass.

The firmware updates might be faster if you connect the Mavic and Controller to your computer USB port and use the DJI Assistant 2 program. Then it will use your computers internet connection rather than your phone. You need to let the Mavic update with "each battery" separately because it also updates the batteries firmware. The compass calibration should be done outdoors where you will be launching from. And if you move to a new location very far away you should again do the compass calibration at the new launch site.

Why did you do an IMU calibration ? Your only supposed to do that if prompted. Compass calibration is best to do outdoor because if interference inside a building with metall objects.

failed? I thought you meant crashed. as I was too scared to fly mine outside. I did couple of test flights indoors. 3 times it crashed on the wall and the mavic from right off. 5 successful attempt to take off and land on my dining table .. I am still good .
