A passionate, sensitive, and extraordinary performance by three gifted musicians. Frost's haunting, beautiful tone and his subtlety are akin to a master class in clarinet greatness.

One of my favourite pieces in general. Brahms has become my favourite composer after listening 15 years of classical mosic.

The opening theme played by Clemes Hagen has never been better played!

Such an extraordinarily balanced ensemble whose deep love of their individual instrument sound, and how to meld it into a whole, doesn't come along often. Twenty-five minutes of channeling Brahms. Thank you.

Leif Ove Andsnes is in my view the most sensitive pianist in the world today. He never plays anything without capturing the essence.

The musicians' ability to play with full passion and articulate clearly at the same time is very rare, not to mention the rare ability to play together.Great that this performance has been preserved!

It's hard to find a cello and clarinet sounding beautiful together - and y'all did a very good job of just that!

There are simply so many subtle touches that this particular trio makes. The only account I can articulate at the moment is that tender resolution by the clarinet during that embellished variant of the opening material [4:45-4:55]. Strikes my heart every time!

Found this video from 'Classical Music' group chat that was shared on MeWe network.
As I listen to this, I am mindful of the masterful playing of the trio.

This is amazing -- the beginning clarinet solo is wonderful, and being an amateur clarinetist and pianist myself, I am enjoying listening to this (and should be a great piece to wind-down the day with).

Brahms was a genius, and thanks for putting this here.

Just listen to how musically Mr. Frost plays the phrase starting at 2:32: perfection!

There are these heavenly works for the clarinet by Brahms: this trio, his clarinet quintet and his two clarinet (/viola) sonatas (Op. 120). I wish he wrote a clarinet concerto! (Mozart did, of course.)

For me, this is the best recording on youtube. I am currently practising the first part (I play the clarinet) and it helps a lot to play with it too.

I am absolutely in love with this. I first heard it at a chamber music concert a couple years ago and never looked back
