Christians have being reading Augustine's false doctrine of endless punishment in hell fire for so long they see everywhere, completely ignoring the context of these passages.

Hey Total Victory. Thanks for the video you make. I had a question about 1 Thessalonians 9-1: “9 for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.” I recently watched a video where you broke down a quote from 2 Thessalonians in regards to the destruction of Jerusalem, is this “wrath” a reference to that as well? Thank you again for what you do. God bless.

I've noticed that no one ever really goes into the third aspect of this Gehenna fire passage where it says, "For everyone will be seasoned with fire and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt."

I've also noticed how pretty much everyone attributes literal death with these corpses.

If only the advice of Jesus pertaining to the key to understanding his sayings were more closely considered. (See Jn5:39-47)

The writings of Moses may reveal how the worm that never dies is not a [rimmah] maggot of rotten flesh but the [tola] worm of ritual law of the day of the cleansing of the lepers. (See Lev14:4) The fire that shall never be quenched is the Lev6:13 fire of the altar for the law of burnt offerings. In Lev2:13 we learn of the role of salt for the law of grain offering.

These three laws bring into focus the words of Jesus in Mk9 as they pertain to the role of the priests to come prophesied through Isaiah in his final chapter.

Jesus was teaching that it would be better for a one-eyed and one-handed priest having only one foot performing the examination outside the city than for the man with both eyes and both hands and having both of his feet but is the one being examined by the priest.

As a witness... every time Jesus teaches using the "Gehenna" metaphor he's making an allusion to those outside the kingdom during hus Millennial Reign in the age to come.

Would you please do a detailed video on the doctrine of annihilationism again, specifically responding to Chris Date? I would love to hear a universalist response to passages like the second death.

Souls who disbelieve suffer in hellfire which is Gehenna. The Hebrew calls the hellenized term gehenna "Gai Ben hinnom" which translates best to "Valley of the Son of Perdition/Hinnom/Satan" (Matthew 25:41). The bible is clear in Revelation 14:11 "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up until the age of ages[...]"

The word "torment" in scripture is "basanismo" which is defined as >a subjective state or condition based on a objective reality<. The idea of verses like malachi 3:2 is that a touching stone is used to test a certain metals quality (judgement) before it is thrown into a kiln to be mixed with other metals and reconstituted in a smelting process (torment of fire). It is clear by these analogies -that hell cannot ever be eternal - and that its purpose is to purify.

The Bible also states that the celestial is not merely spiritual - but has infact a refined matter and physicality of its own (1 Corinthians 15:40). This is proven in the case of God's wrath poured out over the nations; which causes flesh to melt away "while [the enemies of Israel] are still standing" (Zechariah 14:12-13 ).

The idea of the Word Gehenna being Hellfire is that in the last days, God will pour out this "fiery wrath" of his into the Valley of Hinnom which is next to besieged Jerusalem (Zephaniah 3:8)

Why would Isaiah use the word [tola] if he was creating a word picture for dishonorable death? Wouldn't [rimmah] be the appropriate word for maggot?

As a witness... Isa66:24 is a reference to the [tola] crimson worm used in the ritual cleansing of the leper as detailed in Lev14:4.

"And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the LORD... and the shall go forth and look upon the corpses of the men who have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die..." - Isa66:22, 24

The worm is part of the Levites arsenal when they go forth to look upon those who have transgressed as those back in Num14.

It's hard to summarize the future reality of the cleansing of the lepers and keep the attention required to expound upon the three priestly services Jesus alludes to in Mk9 but I'll go ahead and reference Lev14:4 for the worm the doesn't die Lev6:13 for the fire that is not quenched and Lev2:13 for every sacrifice must be salted.

Jesus adds the phrase "every one shall be salted with fire" with the grain offering reference in Mk9:49. This is key to understanding how Jesus taught it would be better for a one-eyed and one-handed priest having only one foot performing the examination outside the city than the man with both eyes and both hands with both of his feet but is the one being examined by the priest.

"Gehenna" ( valley of Hinnom (wailing) ) used in scripture is the same concept as the "lake of fire",
or the "second death" in the book of Revelation .
It refers to the process and cycle of REINCARNATION .

" Where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched. " ( Mark 9 : 44, 46, 48 )

The "worm" is the maggot that consumes the body at death, and the "fire" is the trials, pain and suffering
of this world in the flesh, for the purpose of "refining" and "purifying" the "SPIRIT" that we really are .

"God is Spirit" ( John 4:24 is the "Father of spirits" ( Hebrews 12:9 ) .
The body or "soul" ( person ) that we are in each incarnation is what dies 18:4 .
But the spirit we really are can never die .

While I agree that jews took great care of their bodies after death, It's highly unlikely that Jesus would have the same concern for the body. Jesus' words were always spiritual and did not deal in carnal affairs such as literal burial or body treatment after death (Remember, "The flesh profits nothing").

Instead Gehenna is a warning of impending judgment (Mathew 23:33 ...the "sentencing" of Gehenna). It more likely alludes to the lake of fire as Jesus also uses very similar language in Matthew 13:

Matthew 13:42
42  And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 "... who hath ears to hear, let him hear"

Furnaces (with one exception) are always used as refinement metaphors in the old testament. Mark 9 warns that if we don't cut out the old man in this age we too shall be tossed into the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone for the ages of the ages.

1. The lust of the eyes (Pluck out eyes)
2. The pride of life (Cut off legs)
3. the lust of the flesh (Cut off arms)

Jesus was more concerned with the inner man, than He was the outer man IMO. And even less so the dead outer flesh.

With that said, your videos have been a great blessing to me brother. Keep 'em up!

Many Christians would be sad or even angry to find out that a hell of burning fire doesn't exist.
