1992 Bayliner Trophy Fishwell problems solved with spray foam. These fish wells were a poor design. Rain or lake water finds its way in here quickly and the line and pump to drain them clogs quickly. The result is tens of gallons of water weighing down the back of the boat. Furthermore the covers are not strong enough to last the decades life of the boat. My solution seems to have worked great. I simply filled them with spray foam after plugging the drain. This keeps the water out and supplies full support for the lids so that I can stand and work over them.

Could be added one small piece of wood in the middle for support!!

Great idea, but if you ever need to replace those rear thru hull drains you could be screwed.

How does it keep fresh water in the live well. To keep the fish alive

I’m trying to figure out how to fill them when they do work, is it by hand? The motor is connected to the drain only

old video and no recent replies but those are fish lockers NOT livewells. There is supposed to be a stainless strainer and the drain motor is actually a macerator as well. The foam works better when applied to the underside of the lids. the actual livewell is on the port side step just in front of the compartment in this video.
