These are the top 5 microphones I use the most when working in the studio. These microphones are high end, and do not necessarily fall under the budget category. With all the covid stuff I miss my microphones and to be honest this video is just an outlet.....but we can test them later! The professional recording studio has its benefits, some of which are these fancy shmancy microphones.

Oh yeah, the good old c414... I love these mics on anything! Get a matched pair of these, and they'll probably be with you forever.

I thought you talk about high-end-microphones. These are more workhorses. High end would be (in my opinion) Telefunken ELA M251 E, AEA A440, Sony C800G, Bock 507, Manley Reference, Telefunken U47, a.s.o.

Oops, got a pair of the 4038s as my first serious studio mics....

I don't regret it one single bit, they sound absolutely amazing on drums and piano and voice and everything I've pointed them at!

Awesome Video! I would be really interested in an in depth review of the Neumann TLM67! I would also appreciate to hear what your Preamp recommendation for this mic would be? I do all my Youtube recordings at the moment with a pair of Neumann KMS105, but I´m planning on getting a TLM67 for the voice.

I have never heard of coles 4038. Do you think it would work well on voice over? You said it provides "detail in the low end" which ins intriguing. ...wondering it dos to voice, instead of more and more rumble like the SM7B and the RE20.

I've had a 414 in my home studio for years and it's still going. Although I may need a better pre amp for voice. Any suggestions?
