One of the many moments where Kurosawa is there for Adachi and put his feelings before his own, but after this Adachi realizes that now HE needs to be there for Kurosawa and put his needs before his own wants. I mean I get why Adachi did what he did but it was rooted from his own paranoia and it made Kurosawa insecure, thinking he wasn't good enough. But his bff Tsuge comes in with words of wisdom, that the magic wasn't what made things work and by keeping the magic only meant he wanted the easy way out and told him not knowing isn't a bad thing, if anything learning as you go forward is a much more genuine experience and makes the bond stronger.

ok, time to write a whole essay about how this part made me wanna cry :)

the first thing i wanna say is that this is the first time adachi made his decision and told kurosawa the truth about hearing what he said. i believe this is good because it shows adachi doesn’t want to have kurosawa feel hurt, but they both feel like a burden to each other, or their paranoia starts to rise. i feel like when we are able to read each other’s minds it’s too easy to figure it out in a snap.
adachi in this case was going to rely on the magic, but at the same time tsuge says he needs to make his own decisions and not just cherish it, which is correct. taking the easy path will be boring and less enjoyable. when we make our own decisions, we can make good ones and bad ones.
the part some relationships miss are communication. when there’s a problem you have to talk it out with your partner, and find a solution together. it’s possible to put yourself first, but again one will rely on the other.
on kurosawa’s side, he wants adachi to again, make his own decisions for his own good. he wants him to make a decision that’ll be less painful for him. while it is nice to say that, it sounds like kurosawa will agree with his decision, even if that means leaving permanent scars on him. because he wants to be the last person to see him in tears.
lastly i think this is a good bl, not just because of the couple, but it also teaches relying on someone/something won’t make anything better. instead, you should figure out the solution to the problem with your partner.

Gosh I wanted to punch Adachi. Me K love him so much. One of the best shows ever very happy ending too. I wish there was an intense kissing scene but alas none. Still one of the best shows out there
